About RCAC

Representing California Roofing Contractors Since 1949

The Roofing Contractors Association of California is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) professional organization dedicated to the protection and advancement of California’s roofing industry in legislative, regulatory and business affairs.

Our Mission

A Statewide Voice for the Roofing Industry

RCAC was founded as a link between local roofing contractors and the state legislature. That purpose remains central to the association today.

RCAC represents the interests of roofing contractors and the unique circumstances of the industry before lawmakers, regulators and other decision-makers in Sacramento.

The association also helps members stay informed about regulatory developments, business issues, educational opportunities and industry resources that affect their companies and employees.

RCAC works on behalf of California roofing contractors through:

Legislative advocacy
Regulatory and industry information
Safety and educational resources
Business and member programs
Statewide industry relationships

Our History

Built to Represent a Changing Industry

RCAC was created in 1949 as California’s postwar construction industry was rapidly expanding and new state rules and regulations were beginning to affect contractors, employees, equipment, financing and building practices.

Roofing contractors from across the state recognized the need for an organization that could monitor those developments and make sure the industry had a voice. More than 75 years later, RCAC continues to carry out that mission.
